Spring is In the Air

It started a few weeks ago with our camellias in bloom (Amber took this pic but only one made it so we'll need to fix that in the fall).

Next it was the azaleas and hostas coming up, as our backyard awakens.

We went on a field trip this week (first one in a year) to the WRAL Azalea gardens.  They were so beautiful, the bushes were taller than Chris in areas.  I didn't realize honeysuckle was in the same family, I definitely need to get some of that to make our yard smell beautiful.

Back home our phlox is in bloom now and it has a sweet fragrance of its own, the rhododendrons are picking up the slack as the azaleas are starting to fade.  Now that we seem to have a nice spring bloom flow we'll have to work on our summer bloom flow.  Beauty of God's creation and its infinite variety always bring a smile to my face, so glad my family enjoys the natural beauty as well.

Some Odds and Ends

Dude has taken a liking to riding the Crazy Cart with Amber.  As you can see he actually perches and stays on by himself.

A child, who will remember who he is, accidentally put dish washing liquid in the dishwasher, and we had the movie scene of suds flowing out onto the floor.  Thankfully, we ran it during the day.  In case you ever need to know, lots of salt is the key to getting the suds to go away LOL.

We have a new habit/nightly laugh therapy of watching "Total Wipeout - Argentina Edition" (Free on Prime).  It makes us all laugh out loud, we cheer on our favorite contestants like it was the ultimate athletic event.  Highly recommended for much needed nightly laugh.

Lance finally figured out how to hold six baseballs in one hand.

Little Miss has completely gentled and trained one of the new chicks to follow her around the yard.

Boys had a fun time at Air-soft party Saturday.  Jared took a fun break with a friend going around pretending to be reporters on the scene.  We stole one of the families girls to play with Amber for the day.  Chris and I noticed having just two girls in the house is much quieter than three boys.

Colorful Weekend

Easter Saturday included an egg hunt and paint-ball party.

Amber had some friends come over for an egg hunt at our house and we tried out some new ways to dye eggs; called Catholic Frosting (I didn't make up the name), that involves an egg carton, shaving cream and neon food dye.  Both went rather well I think.

The boys (including Chris) were invited to a Paint-ball birthday party.

Resurrection Sunday was in a word "Beautiful", so long since we got to dress-up for church on Sunday with friends.  So thankful for our Pastor's discernment and our church community.
